Former President Donald Trump sparked controversy once again at a Georgia rally on Saturday, where he mocked President Joe Biden’s stutter, drawing criticism and outrage online.
As reported by Raw Story on Sunday, March 10, during the “Get Out the Vote Rally” in Rome, Georgia, Trump began his speech by mocking Biden’s speech pattern, saying, “I’m gonna bring the country t-t-t-t-t-together,” in a mocking tone.
This behavior follows Trump’s previous imitations and exaggerations of Biden’s stutter, which he has used to criticize Biden’s competency.
Columnist Molly Jong-Fast was quick to condemn Trump’s actions, highlighting the insult directed at Biden. Gail Helt, a former CIA analyst, suggested that for authoritarians like Trump, cruelty is the point.
However, Helt also expressed confidence in Biden’s legacy, stating that regardless of the outcome of the November election, Biden will be remembered as a great man and president.
Conservative commentator Owen Gladwyn criticized Trump’s behavior as a “blatant display of disrespect towards individuals who face similar challenges,” while political strategist Lindy Li accused the GOP of lacking empathy, pointing out past instances where they have attacked individuals facing personal challenges.
Writer Andy Ostroy drew attention to the crowd’s reaction, questioning whether Trump or his supporters were more “disgusting” for finding humor in mocking someone’s stutter.
This latest incident adds to Trump’s history of controversial statements and actions, which have often been met with backlash and criticism.
Despite the criticism, Trump has shown little remorse for his behavior, continuing to use divisive rhetoric and mocking gestures in his public appearances.
The rally also featured other notable moments, including Trump’s comments about columnist E. Jean Carroll, whom he has been found liable for sexually assaulting and defaming.
Trump referred to the recent bond he had to pay due to the Carroll trial, stating, “91 million based on false accusations made about me by a woman that I knew nothing about, didn’t know. Never heard of. I know nothing about her.”
He is a disgraceful bully who has never got past 12 years old.
The man needs to go to prison as quick as possible before he does any more damage to our country and its citizens
